Harvest Highwy map The Harvest Highway is based on the South Western Highway: From Armadale right through to Walpole and including the byways - wonderful places such as Jarrahdale, Dwellingup, Collie, Boyup Brook, Nannup, Pemberton and Northcliffe - just off the beaten track, and well worth the exploration! Discover the town's various, unique attractions. Meander along the many tourist drives that are on offer and you will be pleasantly surprised by the beautiful scenery and the hidden delights along these routes, stay at a Farm Stay or Rural Escape. Call in to the numerous fruit and vege stalls and collect some fresh produce. Not only will the price please you, but also the taste and texture of this farm fresh produce will bring back memories of a bygone era.

Highway 20, includes the part of the Harvest Highway from Armadale to Bunbury and provides an alternative route to the South West of Western Australia. Escape the hustle and bustle of the freeway and enjoy the country towns of the South Western Highway.

Further south the Highway takes in the towns of the Blackwood River Valley. The Blackwood River is the longest continually flowing waterway in the South West of Western Australia. Beginning in the southern wheatbelt agricultural area it travels 270km to meet the Indian and Southern oceans at Augusta.

Why not take a stroll along the well maintained walk trails. The trails, built by the local communities, often focus on a theme and will help you discover the history and heritage of these small towns. Or you can find that well-hidden patch of wildflowers in the spring or find some scenic spots that you might have missed.  

An alternative route to Albany is via Boyup Brook and Frankland River .

Browsing the country stores with lots of interesting home wares and gift wares that you never see in the city is another diversion. Many artists have forsaken the busy city life to relocate in rural regions, and the various art and craft galleries located in the hinterland allow you to admire the artworks in peace and to interact with the artisan, or watch him/her at work. And, you may just find that elusive piece that will just fit in the empty space at home and also provide you with a unique souvenir of your Harvest Highway holiday.   Take the opportunity to replenish the wine cellar by stopping off at numerous wineries situated along and adjacent to the Harvest Highway. These vineyards are usually owner-operated and offer wine enthusiasts the opportunity to talk to winemakers and sample the region's fine wines.
